Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning creativity of seventh-grade students at Junior High School 1 Bandar Sei Kijang, indicated by several symptoms such as students still being sleepy, not showing curiosity about the material, and being less active in expressing ideas. The aim of this research was to determine whether the implementation of the Project Based Learning model had an effect on increasing the learning creativity of seventh-grade students at Junior High School 1 Bandar Sei Kijang. The subjects of this research were seventh-grade students at Junior High School 1 Bandar Sei Kijang. The object of this research was the implementation of the Project Based Learning model to increase the learning creativity of seventh-grade students in the subject of Islamic Education at Junior High School 1 Bandar Sei Kijang. This research was a classroom action research (CAR). The data collection technique used was observation. Based on the initial observation data, the students' learning creativity before the application of the Project Based Learning model was still relatively low, with a percentage score of 57% in the less creative category (not passing), a classical completeness of 0%, and a classical incompleteness of 100%. However, after the application of the Project Based Learning model in cycle I, the scores increased to 75.3% in the creative category (not passing), with a classical completeness of 45% and a classical incompleteness of 55%. Since cycle I had not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of 80%, the researcher continued the research to cycle II, where in cycle II the scores increased to 87.9% in the very creative category (passing), with a classical completeness of 100% and a classical incompleteness of 0%. Thus, the research was not continued to the next cycle. The results of this research concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model could increase the learning creativity of seventh-grade students in the subject of Islamic Education at Junior High School 1 Bandar Sei Kijang.
