Abstract

This study aimed to determine the significant effect of using the question-andanswer method as a teaching method in increasing students' interest in learning Islamic Education in tenth grade at Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru. The type of research conducted was quantitative with a correlational approach. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and documentation, with a sample of 204 students from a population of 413 students. The data analysis techniques included validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, linearity tests, and hypothesis testing using SPSS Version 20. The results of this study showed that the hypothesis regarding the effect of the question-and-answer method on students' interest in learning was accepted with a significance of 0.000. The influence of the question-and-answer method on students' interest in learning was low (0.289 or 28.9%). It can be predicted that if the question-and-answer method is enhanced, it will contribute to increasing students' interest in learning by 0.300 or 30%. Therefore, it can be concluded from this study that there is an effect of the questionand-answer method on increasing students' interest in learning Islamic Education in tenth grade at Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru.
