Abstract

Theft is a type of crime against human ownership which is regulated in the Criminal Code (KUHP) and is a problem that has often occurred in the community, especially areas where land or plantations are owned by the community. Not a few cases of palm oil theft were carried out by the community or people who were very detrimental to the owners of oil palm plantations or the community often called them private fields that were managed by the community itself, not managed by oil palm companies. The theft of plantation assets occurred in the production of plants, namely oil palm. The main issues in this study are what are the factors causing palm oil theft in the legal area of the Logas Tanah Darat Police, what is the modus operandi of palm oil theft in the jurisdiction of the Logas Tanah Darat Police, and how are the police's efforts to tackle palm oil theft in the jurisdiction of the Logas Police Land Land The research carried out was an empirical legal research method using research or field observations by way of direct surveys to the field, to collect primary data and secondary data obtained from respondents through interviews to make data or information as material for writing in this study. From the result of the research that the authousr get, there are several factor that influence the perpetratos of committing theft crime, namely: economic factors, law enforchemen factors, employmen factors, educational factors, and also evironmental factor. They also use harvesting uquipmen, such as oil palm farmers, usually as a modus operandi, and commit crimes when the farmers are very careless, so the crime of theft arises. The efforts of the police in tackling it are by taking repressif and preventif action.
