Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to national economic defense. However, many MSMEs do not run their businesses well and have even gone bankrupt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Especially in Sabang Town, which has one of the biggest sources of income for MSMEs in the tourism sector. As results, many MSMEs that have financing installments at sharia financial institutions cannot pay their obligations. The Sharia financial institution, in this case is the Indonesian Sharia Bank, is implementing programs in accordance with the presidential instructions, that is to restructure financing for customers. The problem formulation of the study is the role of financing restructuring in increasing MSME income and profits, as well as increasing MSME opportunities. The aim of the study is to investigate the role of the financing restructuring program in increasing MSME income and profits, and increasing MSME opportunities. The subject of the study is the financing section of Indonesian Sharia Bank and the object of the study is MSME customers who are stuck in paying installments. This is a qualitative descriptive study. The data sources of the study are from primary data and documentation data. The data collection techniques of the study are interviews, observation and documentation. The documentation is carried out to obtain historical data on the Indonesian Sharia Bank and MSME customers who experienced bad financing, and observations and interviews to determine the role of the financing restructuring program on the development of MSMEs. The results of the study show that the financing restructuring program carried out by Indonesian Sharia Bank plays a role in increasing income, profits and opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Sabang Town.
