Abstract
n the world of education, the curriculum is always developing in line with developments in educational theory and practice. The change in the curriculum from the 2013 curriculum to the independent learning curriculum resulted in several changes which resulted in teachers experiencing difficulties in implementing this curriculum. This research uses qualitative research with a narrative approach. The data sources in this research are school principals and several teachers who implement the independent curriculum. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation methods. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this research show that in implementing the independent curriculum at SDN 001 Pasir Kellampian, teachers experience several obstacles, namely that the focus of learning often changes to teachers and teaching materials. Apart from that, teachers experience difficulties in dealing with students who are too active. Regarding the teacher's ability to use various learning methods, more varied methods are needed so that students do not feel bored and to increase student enthusiasm and the availability of information and communication technology which is not yet feasible is indicated by the difficulty of internet access in the school, especially when there is a power outage.
