Abstract

ersity Pembimbing : Leny Julia Lingga, S,Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT This research is based on science learning, the characteristics of which are that students must be able to relate natural conditions to the surrounding environment. With a contextual learning approach in science lessons, it plays an important role as an approach used in the learning process. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of the contextual learning approach for science subjects in the independent curriculum at SDN 17 Pekanbaru. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. Data sources involve teachers, principals and students. Testing the validity of the data uses triangulation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of the contextual learning approach in science subjects at SDN 17 Pekanbaru has gone well. This can be seen in the teaching and learning process which always uses various methods, media and learning resources. The conclusion from the research results is that the seven contextual learning approaches, namely: constructivism, discovering, asking, learning communities, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment already exist and are applied as learning approaches in science and science subjects at SDN 17 Pekanbaru.
