Abstract

This research aims to find out how the therapeutic communication process is carried out by psychologists with children who are addicted to gadgets. This research focuses on explaining the therapeutic communication process carried out by psychologists so that children can be influenced by positive things so that children do not become dependent on gadgets. This research method uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used in this research uses data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The subjects of this research were 1 professional psychologist health worker who had experience in therapeutic communication, 1 psychologist assistant, and 2 children who experienced gadget disorders at the Humanika Psychology Center Pekanbaru. The results of this research show that therapeutic communication carried out and delivered well by psychologists to children is the main factor in success in therapy to children.
