Abstract

This study is motivated by student discipline problems, such as the students are not on time, the students are not able to obey the rules, and the students are not obedient in their behavior. However, these problems should not happen to the students. The aim of the study is to find out whether the Islamic Studies learning influence the student discipline at SMPN Muara Sipongi of Mandailing Natal Regency. This is a correlational study. The subject of the study is the students at SMPN Muara Sipongi of Mandailing Natal Regency, and the objects of the study are the student discipline and the Islamic Studies learning. The population of the study consists of 108 students with the total sample is 85 students taken by using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 5%. The data collection techniques of the study are polling and documentation. The results of the study show that it is known that the level of Islamic Studies learning is 88% in the assessment criteria which is in the range 81-100% and included in a very good category, whereas the level of student discipline at SMPN 1 Muara Sipongi of Mandailing Natal Regency is 88% in the assessment criteria, which is in the range of 81-100% or included in a very good category. The magnitude of the influence of Islamic Studies learning on student discipline at SMPN 1 Muara Sipongi of Mandailing Natal Regency is 0.439 or 44% which is included in moderate categoty because it is in the range of 0.40-0.599 in the correlation coefficient table, while the remaining 65% is influenced by other factors. From the results of simple linear regression, it is also known that the significance value of 0.000, because 0.000 is less than 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted.
