Abstract

This research is motivated by the low morale of students at SD Negeri 018 Pematang Binjai. This low Islamic morals is strongly suspected to be related to the low role of PAI learning which is considered less attractive. So it is necessary to implement the Islamic storytelling method so that PAI learning is able to enter the attention of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Islamic stories on Islamic morals of students in PAI lessons at SD 013 Pematang Binjai, Bangko Pusako. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation approach. The sample selection in this study was purposive sampling so that it only involved 61 respondents consisting of students in grades 4,5, and 6. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and data analysis techniques used correlation tests, regression equations and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of descriptive analysis on the variable method of Islamic storytelling, students stated that the Islamic storytelling method implemented by the Islamic Religion Teacher at SD Negeri 013 Pematang Binjai was in sufficient condition. This is evidenced by the percentage score is 73.85% which has enough criteria. Conditions indicate that the implementation of this Islamic storytelling method is not yet perfect according to the students and still has shortcomings in several aspects. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis on the Islamic morals variable which is influenced by the storytelling method, it is Good with a score of 76.54%. This is reinforced by observations made by researchers to students who are polite to the teacher, seem friendly to their environment and love each other. The Correlation Test results get a value of 0.312 or the equivalent of 31.2%. According to the correlation guideline table, the two variables have a low relationship. The results of the hypothesis test are t count: 6.378 > t table: 0.6786. So it can be concluded that the Islamic storytelling method has a significant effect on the Islamic morality of students at SD Negeri 013 Pematang Binjai, Bangko Pusako District.
