Abstract
This research aims to determine the Values of Character Education in the Secondary Education Dance Course in the Performing Arts Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau Islamic University. This research uses theory from the Ministry of National Education (2011:34) regarding 18 Character Education Values. The author uses a descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. This research was carried out in the Performing Arts Education Study Program in the fourth semester in class B dance class of 2022. Based on the research conducted, the author found several character education values in this secondary education dance course, namely, among others : The Value of Religious Education is praying before starting lectures. The Value of Honesty Education always applies the values of honesty in the group, both in terms of movements and behavior. The value of Tolerance Education provides space for those who have not yet memorized the dance to memorize it and tolerates time if someone is allowed to practice. Discipline Education Values apply time discipline, movement discipline and clothing discipline. The educational value of hard work with serious training, perseverance and never giving up. The value of creative education is making works from their respective regions and then creating them again. The value of Independent Education is to practice independently when you have finished practicing together, the aim is to make movements smoother, then create and assemble dance props together. The value of Democratic Education is not committing acts of discrimination, respecting differences of opinion, and sharing training places fairly. Educational Value of Curiosity in the way they look for movements together and ask for opinions from course lecturers. The Educational Value of National Spirit and the Educational Value of Love for the Motherland in the way they are enthusiastic about highlighting dance themes originating from their regions and highlighting dance themes from their respective regions. Educational Values Respect Achievement in a way that they are not jealous of each other and appreciate the success of others. The value of friendly/communicative education is that they are good at responding to differences using good language without conflict. The value of Love and Peace Education is that they respect each other, embrace each other and do not create divisions within the group. The educational value of liking reading is by making a synopsis and looking for information about the work that will be made on the internet. The value of v Environmental Care Education is by keeping the place where they practice clean and cleaning it again. The value of Social Care Education is that they always help group members who have difficulty memorizing movements. The educational value of responsibility is by making time agreements for training, responsibility for training time and responsibility for training places.
