Abstract
Independent learning is a process where students carry out their own learning, actively participate in it, and have control over it. This is a result of their confidence and self-belief in their capacity to learn. In addition, learning independence and self-adjustment are positively correlated. People who can adapt to their environment are more likely to understand and overcome various learning obstacles. Overall, students' ability to gain independence is greatly influenced by self-adjustment. This research aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between self-adjustment and student learning independence at Ylpi Pekanbaru Middle School. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population of this study was Ylpi Pekanbaru Middle School students, totaling 94 people. The data collection technique uses a scale of learning independence and self-adjustment. Based on the results of the Spearman's rho correlation test analysis, a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.412 and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) were obtained. This shows that there is a significant positive relationship between self-adjustment and student learning independence at Ylpi Pekanbaru Middle School, So the higher the self-adjustment, the higher the learning independence of students at Ylpi Pekanbaru Middle School.
