Abstract

This research is based on the lack of attachment of self-concept and self-disclosure because there are still gaps in fellow members and individuals only trust one or two people in the community while community members must trust each other. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between self-concept and self-disclosure in the kpop dance cover community in Pekanbaru. This study uses correlational quantitative methods and data collected by distributing questionnaires via google form. Respondents in this study amounted to 90 people who met the criteria in the assessment based on the self-concept and self-disclosure scales. This data analysis uses SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The results of the research that has been conducted show that the self-concept variable has a significance value of 0.437 (p> 0.05) and the self-disclosure variable has a significance value of 0.554 (p> 0.05), where the results of both self-concept and self-disclosure variables are normally distributed. The Linearity coefficient value (f) is 11.565 with a significance coefficient value (p) of 0.001 (p < 0.05), so the self-concept and self-disclosure variables have a linear relationship. The hypothesis test obtained is that there is a relationship between self-concept and self-disclosure in the kpop dance cover community in Pekanbaru with a correlation value (r) = 0.357.
