Abstract

Social media provides a platform for teenagers to express their creativity, share opinions, and show their talents through content such as photos, videos, and writing. Using social media is a way for teenagers to express themselves. Social media also makes teenagers addicted. Nowadays, the intensity of social media use for teenagers has become something that is very closely related and has even become two things that cannot be separated. The aim of this research is to determine the intensity of social media users among teenagers in Duri City, Mandau District. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The population in this study were teenagers in Duri City, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency aged 10-19 years with a sampling method using probability sampling with a simple random sampling technique using the Slovin formula, and a sample size of 100 teenagers was obtained. The data analysis technique uses a quantitative description test. From the research results, it was found that the intensity of social media use among teenagers in Duri City, Madau District is included in the high category. This means that teenagers cannot be separated from using social media every day and have a tendency to use social media with high intensity.
