Abstract

The crime of violent theft is a serious problem in the implementation of law enforcement in the jurisdiction of the Rumbai Pesisir Police. In this case, the role of the police is very important to anticipate the problem of violent theft from occurring. For this reason, this study wants to know about the process of law enforcement for the crime of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Rumbai Pesisir Police. Then the purpose of this study is to analyze the process of law enforcement against cases of violent theft, as well as what are the factors that hinder the police in enforcing the law on violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Rumbai Pesisir Police. In conducting this study, the researcher used an empirical legal research method where the data collection tool was carried out using the interview method with the police who enforced the law, in order to obtain accurate data in this study carried out directly at the research location. The results of the study of law enforcement of perpetrators of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Rumbai Pesisir Police, where the law enforcement process carried out by the Police starts from the stage of receiving reports from victims or witnesses, crime scene processing, then the investigation stage to the investigation and obstacles in the law enforcement process faced by law enforcement officers in exposing, arresting, and following up on the perpetrators of the crime. Such as loss of evidence, victims died, underage perpetrators and several other obstacles experienced by law enforcement. The implications of this study are the need for increased cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the implementation of more effective law enforcement strategies to resolve this problem.
