Abstract

The Tualang police station is still happening, so concrete steps are needed to stop it and provide a sense of security to people who use the road. Based on this problem, the research objective was determined, namely to find out steps to overcome perpetrators of violent theft on the highway (case study in the jurisdiction of the Tualang Police). The type of research used is descriptive type with qualitative methods. The location of the research was carried out in the jurisdiction of the Tualang Police, it was identified that there was an incident of violent theft on the main road, precisely on Jalan PT. SIR (Perawang – Pekanbaru route). Key informants and informants were used as sources in collecting field data from the police, perpetrators, victims and the community. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. All collected data is sorted and separated according to its categories, then presented and analyzed systematically so that research conclusions can be drawn. The results of this research can be concluded that steps to overcome perpetrators of violent theft on the highway (case study in the jurisdiction of the Tualang Police) have been implemented based on three crime prevention approach models, namely primary prevention, secondary prevention and tertiary prevention. The steps found in this research are: Tualang Police conduct routine patrols, outreach with the local community through various activities such as: Police Goes to School, Friday Confide. The police together with the community maintain security and activate the security system and install signs notifying areas prone to robbery crimes. All criminal acts of robbery are prosecuted by establishing criminal articles with maximum penalties.
