Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out and analyze how village leaders in Muara Huta Raja Village, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, empower women through the Family Welfare Development (PKK) program. To increase women's active involvement in social, economic and family welfare initiatives, empowering women in villages around the mine is very important. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative and data collection techniques are carried out through documentation, interviews and observation. The research results show that village leaders play an important strategic role in advancing the PKK program by providing training and other resources that increase women's involvement. It is proven that the Muara Huta Raja Village Government has carried out activities that suit their needs and interests and a personal approach has been used to encourage women in Muara Huta Raja Village to actively participate in the PKK work program. To improve family welfare, village leaders also act as intermediaries between women and nearby resources and related skills development programs. The research results concluded that the effectiveness of the PKK program in empowering women in Muara Huta Raja Village, especially in improving the household economy and family quality of life, was greatly influenced by the leadership of the village head.
