Abstract

u Islamic University Supervisor: Dra. Suryanti, M.Si. ABSTRACT This research aims to determine students' critical thinking abilities based on biology learning on environmental change material in class X SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. This research is quantitative descriptive research. The method used in this research is a survey method. Data collection was carried out using tests (questions), initial observation sheets, interviews and documentation. The sample in this study was 120 students. The results of the research, namely the total average percentage of scores obtained by male students was 66,55% in the medium category, and for female students the total average was 74.24% in the high category. It can be concluded that there are differences in critical thinking abilities between male gender and female gender in class X SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru.
