Abstract

Riau Advisor : Dr. Nurkhairo Hidayati, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT The development of e-module based on Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) is included in research and development (R&D). E-modules based on Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) are those that raise controversial, dilemmatic, and unstructured science topics, so that students can engage in dialogue, discussion, and debate. Biology learning materials are appropriately combined with Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) learning because they are directly related to human life and the surrounding environment. This research aims to produce teaching materials in the form of e-module based on Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) on material on environmental change and preservation that are valid and good. This development research uses a 4D development model which has 4 (four) stages, namely, the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the disseminate stage. The data collection instruments used were validity sheets, interview sheets and practicality questionnaires that had been validated. The sampling technique used in the research was simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using validity sheets and questionnaires. The validation results by media expert validators show that the e-module teaching materials developed received an average percentage of 95.83% (very valid). The validation results by material expert validators obtained an average percentage of 93.75% (very valid). The validation results by learning expert validators obtained an average percentage of 93.75% (very valid). The practical results of students in using SSI-based e-module show that the e-module developed get an average percentage of 88.39% (very good). The conclusion is that the e-module based on Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) on environmental change and preservation material received a percentage of 94.44% in the very valid category and a percentage of 88.39% in the very good category.
