Abstract

The results of observations and interviews conducted with teachers and students show that the learning process in class tends to use the lecture method and only focuses on textbooks, thus making students less enthusiastic about participating in learning. This research aims to develop comic media based on a scientific approach to environmental change material for class X SMA. This research is included in development research (R&D) using the Plomp development model. The data collection instruments used include student and teacher interview sheets, observation sheets, needs questionnaires, self-evaluation sheets, validation sheets and practicality test questionnaires (one to one evaluation test, small group test and field test). The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The media expert validation results obtained a percentage of 96.42% with a very valid category. The material expert validation results obtained a percentage of 93,75% in the very valid category, and the learning expert validation results obtained a percentage of 97% in the very valid category. The practicality results show an average percentage of 86.93% in the very practical category. The conclusion is that comic media based on a scientific approach to environmental change material for class X SMA/MA is valid and practical to use.
