Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL learning model on the learning outcomes of biology students of class X SMAN 3 Siak Hulu. The form of this research is an experiment with a Randomized Control-group pretest-posttest design. Sampling using Random Sampling. The sample in this study was class X6 as an experimental class totaling 38 students and class X4 as a control class totaling 38 students. The instruments used in this study were learning outcome tests, interviews, observations and documentation. Learning outcome data were analyzed using statistical analysis of independent t-test assisted by SPSS version 22 application. This can be seen from the difference in average values between the experimental class of 91.32 with the Very Good category and the control class of 73.82 with the sufficient category where the average in the experimental class is higher than the control class. Based on the independent t-test, a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000 was obtained, which is smaller than the alpha value (?) of 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, with a significant effect size of 0.7111 (medium effect size). It is concluded that there is a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning Model on the Learning Outcomes of Class X Biology Students of SMAN 3 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency, Riau, in the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
