Abstract

Vigilante action is an action that arises because of a reaction from society, both individually and in mass form, resulting from conditions where their rights and peace are disturbed due to criminal acts that are detrimental both materially and immaterially, which in practice is manifested in the form of violence. This research was conducted at the Kuantan Singing Police Station, and this research conducted interviews with the perpetrators and law enforcers in the legal area. Apart from that, this research also studied books, applicable laws and regulations related to the writing of this thesis. The main problem of this research is to examine several causal factors that hinder legal protection for criminals who become victims of vigilantism. The results of this research are the legal protection provided by the Kuantan Singingi Police to criminals who are victims of taking the law into their own hands, namely providing assistance and care, providing compensation, and efforts made by the Kuantan Singingi Police to anything that hinders the implementation of legal protection for victims. take the law into your own hands.
