Abstract

This research was conducted in Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. The objectives of the study were to determine the influence of geomorphology and watersheds (DAS), the effectiveness of using drones in mapping and analyzing flood-prone areas, and the factors causing floods in the research area. The methods used were primary data collection, namely flood hazard mapping and drone utilization, and secondary data collection, such as using land cover database, rainfall data from BMKG, and utilizing regional geology data from the research area. Based on the analysis results, the influence of geomorphology at Stations 2, 5, 6, and 8 was caused by the very flat topography with a slope of 2-7 percent and 2-3 degrees. Meanwhile, flooding at Stations 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10 occurred due to the flat slope of the land. The influence of the watershed in the research area flows towards the Kampar River, which is located in the middle of Buluh Cina Village. During the rainy season, the water discharge of the Kampar River increases rapidly, so that the flow of the river in the village cannot drain into the main river and floods the surrounding residential areas. The effectiveness of using drones showed that the flood-prone areas of Buluh Cina Village have three categories of flood-prone areas, namely: non-prone areas (5%), moderately prone areas (15%), and prone areas (80%) of the total research area. Rainfall factors with the highest average rainfall in December in the last 3 years, which is 352 mm, and other factors such as land conversion into dense residential areas reduce the water absorption area and increase the risk of flooding. In addition, rising river water levels during the rainy season can exacerbate waterlogging in flood-prone areas.
