Abstract
Community trading activities have grown rapidly, this is influenced by advances in electronic transaction system technology known as e-commerce. E-commerce is a form of trade that has its own characteristics, namely trade that crosses national borders, sellers and buyers do not meet, the media used is the internet. On the one hand, this condition benefits consumers, because they have many choices to obtain goods and services, but on the other hand, violations of consumer rights often occur because e�commerce transactions are different from conventional transactions. Therefore it is very necessary to have legal protection for consumers in perspective e-commerce transactions Law Number 8 of 1999 Concerning Consumer Protection. The research focus raised in this study includes: a) How is the implementation of legal protection for consumers who experience losses due to buying and selling electronic goods (e-commerce)? b). How to regulate legal protection for consumers in transactions through internet media? The aims of this study are: a) To find out and analyze the implementation of legal protection for consumers who experience losses due to buying and selling of electronic goods (e-commerce), b) To find out and analyze regulations regarding consumer legal protection in transactions via the internet media. This study uses normative legal research methods, namely research conducted to examine the contents of written regulations or legal materials. As well as this research is descriptive in nature, namely the author tries to provide a detailed description of legal protection for consumers in buying and selling transactions through e-commerce. The technique of collecting legal materials uses a statutory, case and conceptual approach. The analysis used is normative juridical by using deductive and inductive methods as a support. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that consumer protection guarantees legal certainty for consumers who feel disadvantaged so that the goal of consumer protection can be realized. If a dispute or conflict occurs between business actors and consumers, it can be resolved through: Litigation and Non-litigation. Electronic trading is a transaction model with different characteristics from conventional trading. Its reach is not only local but also global so that in electronic or e�commerce transactions if there are problems, you can use the instruments of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, Government Regulation Number 82 of 2012 concerning Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions and Government vi Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions.
