Abstract

Occupational health and safety (K3) phenomena often occur in several big cities in Indonesia, including one city that is experiencing rapid development in Indonesia, namely Pekanbaru City. In Pekanbaru City itself, it is noted that it has nearly dozens of warehouses spread across the outskirts of Pekanbaru City, one of which is the Platinum Warehousing under the auspices of the Platinum Group. According to research by researchers, from several companies in the Pekanbaru City Platinum Warehouse there are still many daily transport workers who are not equipped with tools to support occupational health and safety. According to the results of the researcher's initial interview with one of the daily porters, they have never been provided with K3 support equipment since the past, and even the costs in the event of a work accident are not borne by the company that employs them. The main problem in this research is how to implement legal protection according to Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for daily porters in the Angkasa City Warehousing of Pekanbaru. This research belongs to the type of sociological research. Sociological research is giving importance to the analysis which has an empirical-qualitative nature. So that the steps that are technically designed for legal research, therefore, the steps begin with problem formulation, determination of samples, variable measuring instruments, data acquisition and preparation of the basis of analysis, and ends with drawing conclusions. The conclusion in this study is that the implementation of legal protection related to occupational safety and health (K3) for daily transport workers in the Pekanbaru City Space Warehousing is by carrying out efforts to prevent work accidents, namely by providing free personal protective equipment / safety, such as belts protection, masks, helmets, goggles, gloves, shoes and others. This is a form of fulfilling one of the workers' rights listed in Law Number 1 of 1970 concerning Work Safety and Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower.
