Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of company age, company size, premium income, investment returns and claims expenses on the profitability of insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The population in this study are insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2021 period. By using a purposive sampling technique with the final sample used as many as 10 companies. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the company's annual report on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data analysis technique in this study used multiple regression with the EVIEWS 10 application tool. The results showed that all independent variables simultaneously affected profitability. Partially, the variable firm age and firm size have a positive and significant effect on profitability, while the investment returns and claims expenses have no effect on profitability.
