Abstract

Law enforcement in Indonesia has various kinds of legal problems with various scenarios and motives for criminal acts committed. One of them is the crime of Theft with Violence. The crime of theft with violence in positive law article 365 of the Criminal Code. Law enforcement against criminal acts of theft with violence must be processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions, where the punishment or criminal sanctions imposed on the perpetrator are expected to provide a deterrent effect on the perpetrator in accordance with the purpose of the punishment. The formulation of the problem in this research is regarding the implementation of law enforcement against perpetrators of violent theft in the Pariaman Police jurisdiction and obstacles to law enforcement against perpetrators of violent theft in the Pariaman Police jurisdiction. The research method used in this research is observational research by conducting a direct survey to obtain primary and secondary data. In collecting data, the author interviewed several respondents, namely Pariaman Police Criminal Investigation Investigators From the results of the research, the implementation of law enforcement against perpetrators of criminal acts of theft with violence in the jurisdiction of the Pariaman Police, especially the Head of Idik I Resum Satreskrim Pariaman Police, has been successfully carried out, although the results have not been optimal due to the lack of personnel and most of the perpetrators are from outside West Sumatra. Obstacles to law enforcement against perpetrators of criminal acts of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Pariaman Police are that perpetrators often commit crimes by stalking victims, the large number of reports received by the police means that perpetrators are caught quickly and there is a lack of awareness among the community to be more careful about their surroundings, a lack of empathy. society towards each other, as well as the lack of employment opportunities that made the perpetrator commit this act.
