Abstract
Domestic Violence (KDRT) has become a phenomenon in people’s lives in Indonesian. The irony is that from various cases of domestic violence, women, especially wives, are victims of criminal acts of violence by their husbands, both physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence. The main source of conflict and domestic violence is misunderstanding between husband and wife. Domestic violence occurs when a woman is forced to submit to a man. Cases of domestic violence (KDRT) that often occur in society are very worrying. Victims of domestic violence often occur, as we see and see in the environment where we live or what we read about in print or electronic media. In its development, victims of domestic violence find it difficult to report the suffering they experience to law enforcement, because of the strong view that a husband’s abusive treatment of his wife is part of a personal event. Victims often cover up cases of domestic violence because they are linked to cultural structures, religion and the legal system that are not yet understood. Even though protection by the state and society aims to provide a sense of security for victims and take action againts perpretrators. This study aims to find out how legal protection is for women victims of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Tenayan Raya Police and what are the obstacles and solutions that are carried out by the Tenayan Raya Police in providing protection for victims of domestic violence. The research method used is sociological juridical with descriptive analysis. The legal protection carried out by the Tenayan Raya Police in terms of legal protection for women victims of domestic violence is in the form of temporary protection which is given a maximum of 7 (seven) days, and within i times 24 hours of providing protection, the police are required to request a letter of determination of a protection order from the court. The obstacles faced in providing protection to victims of domestic violence include three things, the first is the lack of cases being processed by the courts causing weak legal protection for victims of domestic violence. The solution to overcoming these obstacles is to provide legal counselling, outreach and awareness to vctims of violence.
