Abstract
Life at this time has various economic activities characterized by various products that are marketed freely both domestically and internationally, however problems arise when consumers get damaged products where the business actor is not responsible for the damaged product. and this results in losses for consumers. The consumer protection law regulates consumer rights where in this case business actors do not realize consumer rights and are responsible for making consumers lose The main problem in this research is how to implement consumer protection for the quality of damaged products at PT. Ekaputra Prada Indonesia according to Law Number 8 of 1999, What are the constraints on consumer protection for the quality of damaged products at PT. Ekaputra Prada Indonesia According to Law Number 8 of 1999 The type of research used is sociological empirical legal research in which the type of legal research is carried out directly through interviews or questionnaires. This research data was obtained through an interview process with PT Ekaputra Prada Indonesia and 10 consumers who bought products at PT Ekaputra Prada Indonesia. PT Eka Putra is reluctant to provide accountability because to provide accountability PT Eka Putra must provide stock of existing products and replace damaged products. Consumer protection for damaged products at PT Eka Putra Prada Indonesia is not carried out because PT Eka Putra chooses not to be responsible for This damaged product is not in accordance with Article 7 of Law No. 8 of 1999 in Article 19 concerning the responsibility of business actors, namely that a business actor is required to compensate for losses arising from defects in a product produced by business actors to consumers.
