Abstract

This research aims to design an IoT-based home security system that improves the comfort and safety of the home environment. The system utilizes a smart bell connected to a mobile application to provide notification of guest arrival. In addition, the system is equipped with a face detection feature that allows the door to open automatically if the guest's face is recognized. If the face is not recognized, a notification will be sent via Telegram bot. The method used in this research involves the use of an ESP32-CAM microcontroller for face detection, a door lock solenoid to open the door, and an ultrasonic sensor to detect guest arrival. The system was tested under various conditions to ensure its performance in providing notifications and detecting faces. The test results show that this IoTbased Smart Bell system is able to significantly improve home security and comfort. The system provides real-time notifications via Telegram bot when there are guests at the door, ensuring that residents are always alert. The face detection feature adds an additional layer of security, with the door automatically opening if the face is recognized, and sending an image of the guest's face to the Telegram bot if it is not recognized. Device testing showed good performance in bright conditions, although there were limitations in dark conditions. This system successfully overcomes the shortcomings of conventional door systems and provides a better and more convenient security solution.
