Abstract

Sexual violence is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual stimulation. Nowadays, people are often surprised by the phenomenon of sexual deviance carried out in the family environment. The shift in socio-cultural values that occur in society results in the weak mindset of the community towards this deviant sexual behavior. This has implications for the emergence of sexual violence against children in the form of acts of discordant or incest. In Indonesia, especially in Riau, the phenomenon of sexual violence against children in 2021 was recorded at 143 cases, an increase of 40 cases compared to 2020 which was only 103 cases. The increase in cases is partly due to the negative impact of information and technology developments and weak parental supervision. In the thesis entitled “Combating Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence Against Children in the Family Environment in the Riau Regional Police” it is discussed in the problems, namely: factors causing the occurrence of Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence Against Children in the Family Environment in the Riau Regional Police and efforts to overcome Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence Against Children in the Family Environment in the Riau Regional Police. The method used to answer the problems mentioned above is by empirical research methods. Meanwhile, judging from its nature, this research is descriptive analytical. The research location that became the purpose of the study was the Pekanbaru City area, precisely in the Riau Regional Police. Data sources were obtained by conducting observations and interviews with research respondents. The results of the study showed that the factors causing sexual violence against children in the family environment are as follows: Lack of understanding of religion; Social media influencers who can access porn sites; The influence of porn; Opportunity; The psychological state of the offender; and The biological condition of the perpetrator. Polda Riau made the following efforts: Improve the administration and supervision system; Increase police personnel to further improve preventive and repressive measures; Increase moral toughness and professionalism for law enforcement officials; Conduct socialization; and Checking the psychological and biological condition of children.
