Abstract
Village boundary conflicts that occurred between the Ganting Village Community, Salo District and Kuok Village, Kuok District. Many factors led to this including political aspects, regional expansion which was not based on community aspirations, causing prolonged conflicts on the administration and welfare of the two village boundaries, namely "Ganting Village, Salo District and Kuok Village, Kuok District". Where the purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Kampar Regency government in resolving boundary conflicts in Ganting Village, Salo District and Kuok Village, Kuok District. This research method uses qualitative research methods as a technique for data collection and direct interviews with informants Head of Governance Section, Salo Sub-District Head, Kuok Sub-District Head, Regional Administration Team, Kampar Land Agency, Head of Kuok Village, Kuok Subdistrict, Head of Ganting Village, Salo Subdistrict and several communities . The results of the study show that the role of the local government in resolving village boundary conflicts in Kampar Regency (Ganting Village, Salo District and Kuok Village, Kuok District) has been going quite well, but there are still weaknesses. Kampar Regency as a policy has issued regulations regarding existing boundaries in 2010, the two indicators of the role of the Kampar Regency Government as a strategy are the fact that the Kampar government is carrying out the conflict resolution stage by mediation but this activity is carried out after the conflict arises even though the boundary rules are clear from local government but these regulations have not been disseminated to the community, so this strategy indicator is still not appropriate. Even though the third indicator, namely the role as a communication tool carried out by the Kampar Regency government, was quite running, the researchers proved the pattern of mediation carried out by the local government by gathering Kuok and Ganting Village parties for the stages of conflict resolution, even though this settlement only strengthened village boundaries according to with the limits set by the government in 2010 ago.
