Abstract
The Wordwall application is a versatile tool designed for instructors and students to enhance their English vocabulary skills as a second language. When acquiring a foreign language, there are four essential language skills: hearing, reading, writing, and speaking. Vocabulary is a crucial component that must be thoroughly mastered. The research design employed in this study was a quantitative experimental group. The study focused on two variables and involved a population of class VIII students from SMP Negeri 1 Bunut, with a sample size of 64 students. The research instruments utilized in this study included a pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The objective of this study was to ascertain the significant positive impact of utilizing the Wordwall application as a medium for enhancing the English vocabulary learning of class VIII second-semester students. The researcher employed a single test to ascertain the notable disparity in the impact of the strategies utilized in the investigation. The researcher will utilize the pre-test and post-test scores obtained from the students. The results of the pre-test obtained from the experimental group totaled 1640, mean 51.25, the post-test of the experimental group obtained a total score of 2515, mean 78.59, and the results of the pre-test of the control group totaled 1385, mean 43.28. the results of the post-test of the control group totaled 1870, mean 58.43. the average increase value of the experimental group was 68.3 and the percentage of the control group was 30.7. And the results of the N-gain score of the lowest experimental group -66.6 and the highest 100. The lowest N-gain score of the experimental group was -166.6 and the highest was 100 with a comparison of the N-gain score of the experimental and control groups by 37.6. there is a significant positive effect on the use of wordwall application as a medium for learning English vocabulary of class VIII semester II students at SMP Negeri 1 Bunut, Bunut District, Pelalawan Regency.
