Abstract
This study aims to find out and analyze how the effectiveness of the work of the National and Political Unity Agency of Riau Province in maintaining harmony and harmony between religious communities and what are the obstacles. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach as a research strategy. As for the research information as many as 12 people. The results showed that the effectiveness of the work of the National and Political Unity Agency of Riau Province in maintaining harmony and harmony between religious communities as a whole has not run optimally, effectively and efficiently, this is because the apparatus is still not optimal in carrying out its duties and functions where not all implementing employees understand the regulations governing inter-religious harmony and harmony. Then the lack of budget funds intended for the effective implementation of this activity makes the implementing apparatus unable to maximize in carrying out activities. In addition, the coordination of work built so far with all stakeholders involved in maintaining religious harmony and inter-religious harmony in Riau Province is only held during activities, resulting in several problems related to inter-religious harmony in Riau Province. Obstacles that hinder the effectiveness of the work of the National and Political Unity Agency of Riau Province in maintaining harmony and harmony between religious communities include: 1. Lack of strengthening the capacity of apparatus resources through the implementation of education and training. 2. Availability of work facilities and infrastructure to support the activities of the Riau Province Kesbangpol Agency. 3. Low commitment of leaders in conducting individual employee performance appraisals. 4. Lack of Good Discipline Enforcement of Employees
