Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between student learning methods and biology learning outcomes for Class XI students in the online learning system at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2021/2022. It was carried out in February 2022. This research is a correlational study and data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The sample in this study was in class XI IPA with a total of 144 students where this study used the entire population as a sample or saturated sampling. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson Product Moment Correlation technique. Based on research on student learning methods, the average value of all indicators of student learning methods was 73.95% in the Fairly Good category. the repeating lesson indicator has an average of 71.68% with a pretty good category, the reading and taking notes indicator has an average of 71.72% with a pretty good category, then the concentration indicator in online learning averages 78.32 with a very good category, then the indicator for making an online study schedule averaged 74.38% with a pretty good category, then the indicator for doing assignments on average was 73.67% with a pretty good category. While the learning outcomes of students in the high category obtained a value of 72.22%, the medium category was 20.14%, and the low category was 7.64%. Based on the correlation test, there is a significant relationship between learning methods and learning outcomes t count (9.144) > t table (1.665) in the strong category with a correlation (rxy) of 0.609 and a contribution of 37.06%. This shows that there is a significant relationship between student learning methods and Biology learning outcomes for class XI students in the online learning system at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
