Abstract
This research aims to design and build a locker security system using face recognition technology. The system utilizes the Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) method for facial feature extraction and OpenCV as the image processing library. In the process, the user's face will be detected and matched with facial data stored in the database. If the face matches, the locker door will open automatically. This research produces an effective and efficient locker security system prototype. Test results show that this system is able to recognize faces with good accuracy, even in varying lighting conditions. This system is expected to be a better security solution for lockers compared to conventional methods such as keys, PINs, or RFID cards.
