Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of democratic leadership style on work motivation of employees of the Ministry of Religion office in Bangkinang City, Kampar Regency. The population in this study were employees in the office of the ministry of religion, amounting to 75 people. The sampling technique used in this study is a purposive sampling technique, namely the sampling technique by determining certain criteria where some of the population are sampled as many as 33 government employees. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of a questionnaire/questionnaire, interviews and observations. The data analysis technique in this study uses descriptive analysis and SPSS 26. The results of this study indicate that descriptively the democratic leadership style and work motivation are classified into good categories. while the democratic leadership style has a positive and significant influence on the work motivation of the employees of the Ministry of Religion Office of Bangkinang City, Kampar Regency. The magnitude of the influence that occurs is positive and in line with the level of a strong relationship. From the analysis of the data above, it is known that the magnitude of R Square is 0.625. This means that 62.5% of work motivation variables can be influenced by democratic leadership style.
