Abstract
Violence in the family sphere is a wrong interpretation of gender bias, namely that women must obey men and domestic violence occurs. Gender bias places women in a weak position, creating male dominance in the family structure and society. Indonesia has implemented detailed regulations to regulate cases of criminal acts of domestic violence (KDRT). Empirical legal research is legal research that reveals the laws that exist in society through actions carried out by society. The factors causing domestic violence are First, internal factors due to the weakening of each family member's ability to adapt to each other, so they tend to act discriminatory and exploitative towards weak family members. Second, external factors resulting from environmental interventions outside the family which directly or indirectly influence the attitudes of family members, which manifest in exploitative attitudes towards other family members, especially towards women and children. Preventive efforts are efforts made by the police to prevent crime from occurring. Preventive efforts are acts of violation of applicable norms, and factors of jealousy from the perpetrator and efforts from police law in dealing with domestic violence which results in the death of the victim. The results of the research and field interviews are in accordance with the case data that researchers received from the Tapung police jurisdiction, that the factors causing domestic violence which resulted in death in Gading Sari Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency RT.12 RW.04 in the victim were due to jealousy from the perpetrator and Police law's efforts to tackle domestic violence which results in the death of the victim with Pre-emptive, Preventive and Repressive efforts.
