Abstract
Marriage is an important legal event in a person's life and has many legal consequences. Therefore, the Law maintains detailed marriage issues. Marriage in Islam is regulated in what is often referred to as a sacred agreement between a man and a woman to form a happy family. Legal Review of the Implementation of Underage Marriage is reviewed based on Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage in Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage provides a minimum age limit for a person to be able to marry, namely 19 years for men and women. According to this study, there are several legal issues that are as follows: First, the factors of underage marriage in Sentajo Raya Sub-district of Kuantan Singingi Regency. Second, the impact that occurs due to underage marriage in Sentajo Raya District of Kuantan Singingi Regency. Against this study the authors used the method of empirical legal research or sociological legal research “observasion reseach” i.e. by plunging into the field to obtain a certain amount of data. As for the data and data sources that the author uses are secondary data, As for the data collection techniques that the author uses, namely using observation, interview and documentation techniques. While the method of drawing conclusions that the authors used in this study is the inductive method, which is to draw conclusions from things that are special to general. From the results of the study, researchers found, firstly, the factors of underage marriage in Sentajo Raya District of Kuantan Singingi Regency due to the presence of several factors that include pregnancy out of wedlock, this is a frequent factor resulting in underage marriage, economic factors, educational factors, parental factors and religious factors. The most predominant is extramarital pregnancy. Secondly, there are several negative impacts on the effects that occur as a result of underage marriage in Sentajo Raya Sub-district of Kuantan Singingi, which include divorce loss of opportunity, domestic violence, miscarriage and divorce. The most dominant impact is the occurrence of domestic violence and loss of educational opportunities.
