Abstract
This research discusses the Juridical Review of Marriage Dispensation for Early Childhood in Kuantan Tengah District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. Interest in discussing this title is based on the phenomenon that occurs among the people of Kuantan Singingi Regency, which is that from 2019 to 2023 the number of marriage dispensations in Kuantan Singingi Regency continues to increase and is based on data obtained from the Kuantan Taluk Religious Court. The main problem discussed in this thesis is what forms of marriage dispensation are carried out by minors. What are the impacts of the dispensation given by the Taluk Kuantan Religious Court. This research aims to find out the process of applying for a marriage dispensation and the reasons why the Teluk Kuantan Religious Court grants dispensation for underage marriage. To find out the impact of the underage marriage dispensation (Gulf Kuantan Religious Court). The method used in this research uses empirical methods. By conducting interviews with research objects. The respondents interviewed in this legal research were the Teluk Kuantan Religious Court and several perpetrators of underage marriage. Research results Based on a combination of existing data and facts and interviews with several court respondents and children who married underage, it was found that marrying underage will have an impact on household life that is less harmonious, leading to undesirable things. namely divorce. And based on the latest law, Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning the marriage age, which is 19 years for men and 19 years for women, a change from Law Number 1 of 1974. And based on Supreme Court Regulation Number 5 of 2019. regarding marriage dispensation guidelines. And the author also discovered the fact that there are many impacts of early marriage because age is important for someone who is going to get married because age is important in forming a household so that undesirable things are not discovered later, namely divorce in in domestic life.
