Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading interest and the use of the university library with the learning outcomes of students in Biology Education FKIP Riau Islamic University. This research is a correlational study and data collection uses questionnaires, observation, documentation and interviews. The sample in this study were 121 students. Data analysis in this study used the Person Product Moment correlation analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: the average value of the recapitulation of all indicators of reading interest in Biology Education Students of FKIP Islamic University of Riau is 82.73% which is in the very good category, while the recapitulation of all indicators of Library Utilization for Biology Education Students of FKIP Islamic University of Riau is 82.15% which is in the very good category. The results of the rcount calculation of Biology Education FKIP Riau Islamic University students reading interest (X1), library utilization (X2) with learning outcomes (Y) there is a strong relationship (0.726). For significant test scores it was found that reading interest (X1), library utilization (X2) with learning outcomes (Y) thitung (11,51) > ttabel (1,98). The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between reading interest and library use and the learning outcomes of biology students at Riau Islamic University for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
