Abstract
This study aims to determine differences in the mathematical creative thinking abilities of students who study using Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning with students who learn using conventional learning. This type of research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest-Postest Control Group design. The population in this study were all students of class X Senior High School Negeri 2 Pekanbaru City, with a sample of 36 students from X IPA 3 class and 37 students from X IPA 4 class who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using test and observation techniques. Data on the average ability to think creatively mathematically then analyzed using the t test. The results of the study show that students' mathematical creative thinking abilities after learning with PBL have increased. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that PBL learning can have a positive impact on the ability to think creatively mathematically. So that it can be an alternative learning model to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.
