Abstract

Learning Model on Students' Mathematical Connection Ability in terms of Early Mathematics Knowledge of YLPI Perhentian Marpoyan Junior High School Students. Genia Tri Ananda NPM. 196410449 Thesis. Mathematics Education Study Program. FKIP Universitas Islam Riau. Advisor: Leo Adhar Effendi, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT Learning model research (CORE) aims to determine the effect of CORE on students' mathematical connection ability in terms of early mathematical knowledge of YLPI Perhentian Marpoyan Junior High School students. The samples in this study were grade VII.1 students (experimental class) and grade VII.2 students (control class). Data collection techniques carried out by researchers are by conducting posttests, tests of students' initial mathematical knowledge, observation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a two-way anova test. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were obtained, namely: 1) there is an influence of the CORE learning model on students' mathematical connection abilities; 2) there is an influence of prior knowledge of mathematics on students' mathematical connection ability; 3) there is no interaction between the application of the CORE learning model and initial knowledge of mathematics on students' mathematical connection abilities.
