Abstract

Apart from educating and producing civil engineer experts, Civil EngineeringMajor at Islamic University of Riau has partners, working together to completeprojects that occur inside or outside the campus. Projects carried out byCivil Engineering Major at Islamic University of Riau, that is construction projects or civil projects, can be carried through if the required resources are sufficient for each tasks in the project. Delaying projects that are excessively or occur several times will result in additional resources and budget exceeding the predeterminedproject budget limit. Using the right resources, such as materials used in project tasks, will produce good quality buildings, along with reducing costs that occur if excessive materials are used or do not meet the criteria. This application uses theDifferential Evolution method which is used to be able to suggest materials that will be used in project tasks. Furthermore, this application provides possiblebudget if there is a time delay for each project task that has not been completed. Afterwards, this application will present informative data, including the budget for project tasks, provide a budget report for the project so that it can be consideredor used as a reference for operating project. Based on the result of this experimentingwork, implementing Differential Evolution succeeded in changing the material suggestions found through the system, then by using the daily project task costs, if there is additional time (days) to complete the task, these costs will becomeareference for additional costs found as a result of the additional time, thenprovides several solutions that users can choose from with the lowest total cost. It is hoped that using this application will help Civil Engineering Major at IslamicUniversity of Riau in managing its projects in selecting materials and addingappropriate time for completing tasks if necessary.
