Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe the role of teachers and obstacles in developing students' disciplinary character. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data sources used in this research were obtained from teachers and students in class Vc. Data collection techniques and instruments were obtained through interviews and observations which were used to find out more about the role of teachers in developing the disciplined character of class Vc students, while the documentation used as supporting data in the research was in the form of photos and documents. For the validity of this research data, three triangulation techniques were used, namely source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation as a measure of data validation. The results of the research show that the teacher has carried out twelve actions as a form of the teacher's role in developing students' disciplinary character, but in their implementation there are still several obstacles that the teacher faces. So it can be concluded that to develop the disciplinary character of students, teachers should look for solutions that are appropriate to the student's situation in overcoming problems that occur and it is hoped that the teacher's role in developing students will be further enhanced by taking firm steps if there is a violation of school rules regarding student discipline.
