Abstract

The Effectiveness of Learning with Animation Video Media and LKPD on the Subject of Straight Line Equations on Class VIII Student Learning Outcomes WANDA GITA HIDAYAH NPM. 186410228 Thesis for the mathematics education study program FKIP Riau Islamic University Mentor: Sindi Amelia, M.Pd ABSTRACT Related information that students have learning difficulties because when the teacher explains the material, many students are doing other activities, students tend to be passive in arguing, students are waiting more for answers from teachers because students view mathematics as a difficult subject, coupled with low interest and thinking power and understanding that is less than optimal so that learning mathematics does not work effectively which results in low learning outcomes. Therefore, learning media is needed that can increase the effectiveness and results of learning mathematics. This type of research is experimental research involving two classes as an experimental class and a control class which aims to determine the effectiveness of animated video media and LKPD. This study refers to the criteria for the effectiveness of learning, namely learning outcomes. The sample in this study were 46 students in class VIII of SMPS Kuala Lumpur Kepong, of which 23 students were from the experimental class and 23 students from the control class which were held in 4 meetings. Data collection techniques used are documentation and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis to describe learning outcomes and inferential analysis with normality tests and hypothesis testing. The results showed that: student learning outcomes scores where the experimental class experienced a greater increase than the control class. After being tested using the Effect Size it is known that learning in the experimental class is more effective than learning in the control class, with ES > 1,00 which is in the high criteria and it can be said that this learning is effective.
