Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class X students at SMK Negeri 4 Dumai using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model. The research subjects consisted of 37 students. The type of research used was classroom action research (PTK) which was conducted in 2 cycles. The data collection instrument consisted of observation sheets and mathematics learning achievement tests. Furthermore, the technical data analysis carried out is an analysis of the results of observations and analysis of learning outcomes. Based on the observation sheet at each meeting, it showed that there was an improvement in the learning process from the first meeting of cycle 1 so that the last meeting was in cycle 2. From t he results of the student learning tests there was an increase in the number of students who achieved KKM on a basic score of 17 students or 45,94%, while the results of test 1 are 20 students or 54.05% and daily test 2 is 32 people or 86.48%. Based on the results of the analysis of the average student learning on the basic score of 54.8, the first daily test is 62.2 and the second daily test is 78.3. So it can be concluded that the application of using the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) model can improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class X students at SMK Negeri 4 Dumai.
