Abstract

The main objective of this study is to analyze and explain the role of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives and Labor in the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Meranti Islands Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The number of research informants was 9 people with the Head of the MSME Cooperative and Labor Office as key informants. Data collection techniques by interviews and data analysis in this study used on-site data analysis techniques developed by Miles Huberman. The results of the study show that the role of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives and Labor in the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Meranti Islands Regency can be concluded that it has carried out its role well, but there is still something that needs to be improved, especially based on indicators of stabilizers, innovators, modernizer, pioneer and executor. One of the challenges faced by micro, small and medium enterprises today is the rapid development of technology. Therefore MSME actors must be able to adjust and adapt to the challenges that exist.
