Abstract
The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), with the aim of improving the learning process in terms of teacher and student activities so that it can improve the mathematics learning process of class VIII students of Pekanbaru Technology Middle School on the Pythagorean theorem material. The subjects in this study were class VIII1 students for the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 27 students with heterogeneous abilities. Data collection took place from January 27 2022 to February 24 2022 which consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. The data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets of teacher activities and observation sheets of student activities. During the learning process the indicators observed included attention and motivation, activeness, direct/experienced involvement, repetition, challenges, reinforcement, and individual differences. The results of the study indicate that there has been an increase in the learning process so that students are actively involved. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning models can improve the mathematics learning process for class VIII Junior High School of Pekanbaru Technology School.
