Abstract
Spinach Vegetable Agribusiness Development Strategy in Bengkalis Sub-district, Bengkalis Regency. Under the guidance of Dr. Ir. Marliati, M. Si and Dr. Fahrial, SP, SE., ME. Land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) is one type of vegetable that is favored by the community, but it’s development is still faced with problems of low productivity, traditional farming businesses management and simple post-harvest measures. This research aims to determine the characteristics of farmers/traders and farm profiles, subsystems of providing production facilities, farming, agroindustry, marketing, development strategies and policy implications of spinach vegetable farming businesses development strategies. The research was carried out in Bengkalis Sub-district, Bengkalis Regency using the survey metode. The results showed that: (1) The average age of farmers was 47.9 years and the average age of traders was 44.7 years. The average education of farmers is 11.3 years and traders are 12.1 years. Farmer farming experience is about 5.5 years and trader 11.4 years. The average number of dependents families farmers and traders is 3 people. (2) Provision of production facilities for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and labor in terms of timeliness, quantity, type and quality of 98% to 100% right and in terms of prices that are not right. (3) The application of cultivation technology is in accordance with the recommendations except for the bed width, planting spacing, embroidery and the use of fertilizers / pesticides that are still below the recommended dose. Productivity is still low (±57%). Net income amounted to Rp.48,370,779.72/ha, while the cost amounted to Rp47,555,013.44 with the largest cost component being labor costs (78.9%). RCR value 2.02, BEP unit 69,014 kg/ha and BEP Rupiah Rp.572,816.33/ha. (4) The average gross income of the spinach cah agroindustry is Rp.4,502,960.00/month at a cost of Rp.2,445,705/month. Net income is Rp. 2,057,255/month. Agro-industrial efficiency of 1.84. Added value of Rp 17,111.00 with an added value ratio of 57.10%. (5) The spinach vegetable marketing channel consists of zero level and one level. Marketing margin of 25.23%. Profit margin was 23.43%, while marketing efficiency was 1.76%. Farmer's share value is 74.77% so that marketing channels are efficient. (6)The level of farmer satisfaction in the role of communicator of Agricultural Extension is 98.4%, educator 86.7%, motivator 95.2% and facilitator 86.7%. The role of the government is in the form of seed assistance, fertilizers / pesticides, guidance and assistance as well as services to farmers. (7) SWOT results are SO strategies by utilizing strengths to obtain opportunities and IE matrix is in area II, namely growing and building with market penetration strategies, market development, product development and integrative strategies. (8) Policy implications of the spach vegetable agribusiness development strategy in Bengkalis District, namely: striving to increase productivity and make agricultural efficiency, establish cooperation with saprodi traders, improve product quality of organic, increase added value improving the shape of packaging to be more hygienic and create agro-industry processing kale vegetables into food products that are more durable, taste good and preferred user.
