Abstract

According to the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003, it is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and skills needed by themselves and society. In the field of Education, the learning media used today still mostly uses books or textbooks and at least 3D images in learning books and learning activities that are always monotonous, while technology that often undergoes developments, especially in the field of entertainment and communication science that presents interesting and interactive things such as online games, or 3D animation (3D) and social media The lack of variety in face-to-face learning has a negative impact on teaching and learning activities, plus the media used for learning is mostly books containing writing and a few 2-dimensional images. This application was created with the aim of building learning media about the Nomenclature of Benzene Compounds, Its Structure, and Uses using augmented reality to carry out teaching and learning activities as well as to increase student learning motivation and students' understanding of material regarding the nomenclature of benzene compounds. The application is created using Blender 3D, Unity as a 3D display and by using the markerless method and using the ARCore SDK library. Based on the tests carried out, animations can be displayed indoors and outdoors and can track locations anywhere provided that the light intensity is sufficient above 5 lux light intensity, and in distance testing, at a minimum distance of 5cm 3D animation can appear. The user test received a score of 86.42% with the conclusion that respondents "Strongly agree" with the learning application regarding the nomenclature of benzene compounds, their structure, and their uses using augmented reality can help the learning process at SMAN 1 Tembilahan Hulu Grade 12
